How can you use route planning in MobileCRM?

I’ve talked earlier about Resco’s new feature in it’s MobileCRM app; route planning. But any manual or guide is missing at this moment. In 4 short steps I will explain how it works and how you can use it in your organization.

Step 1

Select the customers / contacts / prospects you want to visit. Click on their pin on the map and click “+” to add them to your route. The app will show you how long the drive to the customer will take. You can still modify the order in which you want to make the visits. Moreover, you can make your planning for different dates, allowing you to create a route for next week or next month.

Step 1

Step 2

The app will create appointments automatically for the salesperson in the CRM system (I’m using MobileCRM in combination with Dynamics CRM). This way he (or she) doesn’t need to create a manual appointment. Only thing left for them is updating the appointment after the sales visit.

Step 2a

Step 2b

Step 3

If one of the appointments would change (e.g. a colleague modifies on of your appointments in Dynamics CRM), the route planning will be updated also. Moreover, a warning will be generated (red text as seen below) so you know you won’t be able to make it in time.

Step 3

Step 4

Through the app you can also start your tablet or smartphone’s navigation system. Which will create a route and give you directions on how to get their. Creating the best of both worlds.
