The Dynamics CRM app strikes back! Will Resco Mobile CRM loose its main advantage?

Will Resco Mobile CRM loose its main advantage

For those who have not discovered it yet, Microsoft has launched its Microsoft Dynamics CRM Roadmap. One of the features in “preview”-stage is the Mobile Offline support for the Dynamics CRM app. Until now, this has been one of the biggest USP’s of Resco’s Mobile CRM app. Next to the new offline feature other new mobile enhancements have been introduced with Dynamics CRM 2016. I am curious to see how this mobile war plays out!

Mobile Offline support

We are excited to announce that users of Dynamics CRM Online will be able to have a full offline experience with mobile apps. This provides the ability to get your work done even when there is interruption in connectivity. Users will be able to create, change, and delete records while offline. Automatic playback of offline actions helps synchronize local changes with Dynamics CRM Online. The mobile apps provide a seamless user experience when switching between online (connected) and offline modes.

Other mobile enhancements

The “Prepare Client Customizations” button

Once you publish customizations, the first user to start one of the CRM mobile apps or the interactive service hub can experience performance issues, because their sign in prompts CRM to prepare the metadata package for download. That means the first user has to wait for both the metadata package preparation and the download (subsequent users only have to wait for the download).

With Dynamics CRM 2016 Update 0.1 or later, you can improve performance for that first user by clicking the Prepare Client Customizations button after publishing your customizations. This prompts CRM to prepare the metadata package right then instead of waiting for the first user to start a mobile app or the interactive service hub.
